Congratulations to Mikayla Muscat who competed at the NSWPSSA Championships last Thursday at Homebush.
Mikayla competed in the 100m and 200m events. She finished 1st in her heat and 8th in the final for the 200m and 10th in her heat and 11th in the final for 100m. What an outstanding achievement Mikayla at such a high level.

Our third session at the Annangrove Environment Hub saw our Laudato Si leaders treated to a bush tucker sensory experience where we were smelling, exploring the bushland, and learning about native plants and their uses. We also rolled up our sleeves and investigated water bugs, discovering how these tiny creatures can tell us about the health of our waterways. It was another fantastic hands-on session connecting science, sustainability, and our call to care for God’s creation.

Our Laudato Si’ leaders had a fantastic time on their second visit to the Annangrove Environmental Centre last week! Through hands-on experiences, they deepened their understanding of how science, sustainability, and faith come together in caring for God’s creation. 💧 They investigated pollution levels in Cattai Creek with an interactive water activity, 🌱 explored the wonders of composting and worm farming, 🪴 and learnt what makes soil healthy and what doesn’t! We shared great conversations about how we can make a positive difference in our school and beyond. Let’s continue to walk gently on the Earth and live out our call to care for our common home. 🌏

Year 2 have been enjoying their Science lessons this year. They have just begun learning about the earth’s resources, particularly focusing on Water and at the end of last term they loved taking part in the hands on Fizzics workshop about the Properties of Materials. Year 2 also started off the term well with a fun free play afternoon to celebrate completing their Korra trees.

Our Laudato Si’ Leaders, along with students from Marian, have begun a 5-week Landcare program at the Annangrove Environment Centre, where they’re learning how to care for God’s creation through hands-on environmental action and reflection. This week, our leaders showed wonderful enthusiasm and respect as they explored the local bushland, learned about native plants, and completed their first Landcare task of removing fireweed to help protect the environment. One student shared that while she’d heard the term Cattai Catchment before, she now truly understands where it is and how to care for the animals and plants that live there. A beautiful example of Laudato Si’ in action. 💚🌱
